LONDON. Loan of £1150. black. No 745. Folds with some moderate discolouration. In 1842 Parliament passed an Act to allow the Bank of England to lend money for public works and fisheries, and employment of the poor. This loan for £1150 was given to Bottesford Church, Nottingham under the terms of this Act. Repayments are shown on the bond. The loan was issued at the 'South-Sea-House', this was used by the Bank of England as offices, and there is no connection with the South Sea Co. Extremely rare.
