PARIS. Cert. Nom. d'Inscriptiond'Actions de F100. blue, green. No 805. Two heavy folds and a little staining. A fascinating discovery for Panama Canal collectors : a nominative share certificate, as opposed to the bearer shares (see previous lot). Unfortunatelly, this nominative share is, unlike the bearer share, not very decorative. Yet, it shows that the company capital, 65 mio. FRF, was not divided into 650.000 bearer shares (of 100 FRF each), but split between bearer and nominative certificates. The piece we offer represents 6 shares and is issued to a lady living in the southern part of France. A surely unique piece which now comes to the market from the large Carribean collection we offer in this auction. Not reported in Julius Gigore's standard work on Panama Canal scripophily.
