WIEN. 1. 25 Aktienjedezu 400 Kronen, 1870, brown & buff. 2. Same, 100 Aktien, brown & green, 1922. The company was formed, with Belgian capital, to acquire concessions granted in 1869/70 for building a line Vienna to Wiener Neustadt and Aspang. This was part of an ambitious concept for a line from Vienna to Salonica, partly by construction and partly by acquisition of lines built in various parts of Serbia and Bosnia. The line to Aspang opened in 1881, and went no further. In 1937 it was in difficulties and was taken over by the Ã–sterreichischeBundesbahnen. The line still operates today, in part as a section of the Wiener Schnellzug network.
