LEEUWARDEN. Aandeel Fl.1000. brown, blue. #1100. No 199. Worked 75km of local railways in north Friesland, the first line being Leeuwarden-Stiens-Ferwerd. This, in 1899, was one of the first of the new type of Dutch railways, with lighter rails and slower speeds than the main lines. Traffic, both passanger and freight, was much lower than expected, and the line was never a financial success. It was taken over by the state in 1935. Folds with small edge-splits, repaired with old style tape.
