CALIFORNIA. LOS ANGELES. 6% S.F. First Mortgage Gold Bond of $1000. brown, yellow, black. No 36. Large format bond, with views of water-power and canal, to irrigate fields in the Minneola Valley, San Bernardino County. These bonds were issued by a company formed to get investors' money, by making grossly exaggerated claims about the potential of the land. At the time, promoters could say anything to get the money, then do anything they wished with that money. It is not surprisingly that the bond was not repaid, and that no coupons have been cut. We are told that 4 pieces have been found.
