POLAND. PARIS. Cert. d'Actions Nom. de F100. brown. #5500. No 168. Heavy folds and a few edge-splits. Some discolouration. Text in French. Goldberg is today known as Zlotoryja, a historic town (the oldest town in Poland!) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in southwestern Poland. Since the Midlle Ages, it was a centre of gold and copper mining. Around 1900, various companies tried to recover the gold mining in and around the city, but the plans were soon abandoned. Instead the copper ore mines were opened, but they faced serious financial difficulties by the end of the1920s. Shifted from German to Polish territory at the end of World War II. First time seen by us.
