L'Observance (named after a formed convent) is a district of Lyon, rising on the right bank of the Saône. The company's office was on the Quai Pierre-Seize, beside the Saône below the quarry. The verydecorative border shows the arms of Lyon, various buildings and statues in the city, railway, and a view from across the Rhône, showing the quarry cut into the limestone slope on the opposite side of the river, and the tile-works on the river bank.
