In 1901, the company also starts building locomotives and 2 years later, gas engines. In 1907, a joint venture with F. Ringhoffer results in the Prager AutomobilfabrikGes. ('Praga'-cars). Further expansion followed in the shipping and aviation industry. Merged in 1927 with two other companies(Kolben& Co. and Danek& Co.) to form Ceskomoravska-Kolben-Danek, better known as CKD. It was one of the biggest Czechoslovak industrial conglomerats with a workforce of 50,000 people between 1946-1990. After the communist area, the firm was split into several separate companies.
