KANSAS. 7% Bond of $500. green, black. No 818. Folds and trimmed left border. One of America's great railroad companies, and one of those which opened up the west. Formed in 1863, it built a network of some 3.000 miles, based on the main lines Atchison KS to Pueblo CO and Deming NM, but with many branches around KS, CO and NM. Still exists today as the Santa Fé. Bond secured on Pottawatomie Reserve lands. Vignette of train and 3 smaller vignettes. Extremely rare and an important piece.
