N.J. CAMDEN. Shares of $100. black. No 284. The name shows the company was formed to salvage treasure from ships wrecked near Vigo, on the northwest tip of Spain. In 1702, an Anglo-Dutch fleet attacked the Spanish treasure fleet from America, loaded with silver and merchandise, in Vigo Bay, northern Spain. The engagement was an overwhelming success for the Allies, with all Spanish ships either captured or destroyed. Yet most of the treasure had already been off-loaded before the attack, or thrown into Sea - sources vary. Hence the creationof this company. Extremely rare.
