STOCKHOLM. Aktiebref A en Preferensaktie 1000 Kronor. brown, green, black. No 18. Beautiful vignette of a hydroelectric power station along the Götaälv river in Trollhättan, a town in western Sweden. It was here that the first large scale Swedish attempt at generating electricity from water took place. Issued to and signed as director by Gustaf de Laval (1845-1913). He is one of the best-known inventors from Sweden. He achieved his fame as an inventor and an industrialist with the milk-cream separator, patented in 1878. In 1888 de Laval patented the impulse steam turbine, which was a later widely used source of energy in industry. In 1883, he founded AB Separator which in 1963 became known as Alfa Laval AB and still is one of the leading companies of Sweden and active worldwide. First time in our auctions.
