This double-deck metal arch bridge was constructed 1881-1886 and with its 172m span, it was the longest of its type in the world. Electric trams crossed the upper deck from 1908 until 1959, and trolleybuses from 1959 until 1993. This company, operating the Porto tramways, was founded in 1908 and continued to exist for the next 73 years. Only this one piece, part of the original capital of 3,4 mln.Rs., is known to us.
