It was largely financed by the American businessman Joel Hillman and was popular with Americans arriving in France on Transatlantic ocean liners. It is today known as the Four Seasons Hotel George V and after a major renovation, it is, starting in 2000, regularly voted 'Best hotel in the world' by a number of publications. The hotel also includes 'Le Cinq', a famous 3-star Michelin restaurant. First time seen by us.
