Detailed engraving of the Paris Stock Exchange building, the famous Palais Brongniart. It was designed by the Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart (1739-1813) - a famous architect, for instance of the Père Lachaise Cemetery. The construction of the Paris Bourse in classical Greek style was finally finished in 1825. The owner of this lottery ticket, of 1 Fr., could win a golden snuff box with an estimated value of 6000 Fr. This lottery was organized by the City of Paris and as such this is the oldest document we have ever seen to finance the city's treasury. A recent discovery and to the best of our knowledge unique.
