One of the purposes of this loan was to pay the costs of a bridge over the Yangtse river at Hangchow. The bridge was completed in November 1937, but, after taking several years to build, it was blown up, only 4 days after completion, because of the Japanese advance on Hangchow. The bridge is shown on the reverse of the bond. With coupons 4-50.
