65 HAUTES-PYRENEES. PARIS. Action de F100. blue. #4000. No 399. Folds. Large square format, showing the Virgin Mary. The company was formed to acquire of a Panorama of Jerusalem, the Musée du Cinquentenaire, and a cinema hall, all of which were together in Lourdes, and to exploit them. The panoramas were extremely popular at the time. A panorama was a great circular tableau mounted on the walls of a circular hall, lit from above, so that the spectator, seated in the centre, feels he is looking out over a great view, to the horizon. They often showed historical events; this one, presumably, showed the events in Jerusalem 1900 years earlier. Panoramas lost their appeal as the cinema became widespread.
