A 4 million Florins loan ordered by Austrian Empress Maria Therese to be raised in the Belgian Provinces of her Empire. The purpose of this loan was, as written on the certificate, to finance her next campaign in the Seven Years' War with Austria aiming to regain Silesia from Prussia. She ordered the practical raising of the money to her brother-in-law, Charles Alexandre Emanuel, Prince de Lorraine and governor of the Austrian Netherlands. Theloan was secured by future tax revenues, not only in the Austrian Netherlands but also from her German and Hungarian territories. This loan was issued to the Abbey of St. Ghislain (Hainaut Province). Several transfer notes on the back and final repayment note dated 1771. First time seen by us.
