TROSTIANETZ. Action de 3.125 Rbls. green, brown, black. No 336. Folds. Small ink stain. Originally founded in 1861 in Trostjanez by the landowner Felix Sobanskij alongside the South-East Railroad and near Kharkov (Ukraine). In 1868/69, a group of merchants (E.G. Molinary, Carl Geber, Emil Solacroup and the Belgian brothers Emile and Jules Charles Halot) buys the company and turns it into a limited company through the issue of 480 nominative shares of 3125 roubles each. From 1874 onwards controlled by the German "sugar baron" Leopold König. Around 1900, the company employed 900 people and also operated a vodka factory, opened a second sugar mill in Gassinsk and owned large fields of land for the growing of sugar beet, as well as grain. The sugar factory is today partly a ruin and partly a bread factory. Trostjanez is now best known for its big MILKA chocolate factory. Issued to Jules Charles Halot.
