Lotnumber: 543
SCOTLAND. GLASGOW. Shares £10. black. No 809. Three folds with some small splits. Formed Glasgow, 1845, and liquidated 1848. We have seen it stated that this was precursor of the Glasgow Stock Exchange, but this appears to be incorrect. Its intended function, though obviously financial, is not clear. Very fine engraved vignette, showing Fortuna, and various public buildings in the city, and a ship in the port. Extremely rare.
