HELSINKI. Aktiebref 100 Finska Mark. blue, olive. No 272. A permanent Finnish Opera, with its own theatre, did not emerge until Finland gained its independence from Russia in 1914. From then on, professional performances of new operas written in Finnish took place in the theatre in Helsinki. Liquidated in 1958. Text in Finnish and Swedish. Facsimile signature of Oskar Merikanto on the talon, he was a famous Finnish composer and conductor of this opera.
