BRUXELLES. Action Privilégiée de F500. black on blue paper. No 460. Large format. Folds, many tears (mostly repaired) and some missing paper (repaired). Generally bad condition but this is a unique share. It was founded in 1878 as second oldest Belgian bath house/swimming pool (only Verviers was earlier, in 1868). Designed by the architect Vander Heggen and located at the corner of the rue du Moniteur and the rue Royale at the first premises of the National Bank (who moved to the rue du Bois Sauvage). Takenover by the city of Brussels in 1886. It was the first Belgian swimming pool in which water polo was played (since 1896) and in 1897, it became the home of the newly founded Brussels Swimming Club. Turned into a school building in 1959-1960 (Ecole fondamentale Daschbeek-Congrès).
