PORTO. 5 Acçoes de Esc. 100$00. brown, yellow. No 216-220. Folds. Fine design of African ladies picking cotton, and a border of lilies and coats of arms. The name in English is The Colonial Company for Growing Cotton.Note that at the top of the share, a sign is put up next to a half-naked African woman. It states 'Invicta' which is Latin for unvanquished and could as well refer to the lady or to Porto, also known as the cidade invicta and the city were this share was issued.
