LONDON. Treasury Note of £2000, specimen. green. No 64. Two perforation holes. A Bradbury, Wilkinson printer specimen of a £2000 Treasury Note to be issued by the Republic of China in accordance to the Order No.20 of the Ministry of Finance (11 March 1939). Payable at Messrs. Guinness, Mahon & Co. in London.At the time of this certificate, China was in serious difficulties: the second Sino-Japanese War (1937-45) caused large parts of China to be occupied by the Japanese. The rest of the country suffered from an increasing number of conflicts between the Kuomintang and the Communists. Only piece known to us.
