PARIS. Part Bénéficiaire. brown. No 9202. The New Hebrides are an island group in the South Pacific Ocean and is today known as the Republic of Vanuatu, 540km northeast of New Caledonia. In the 1920s, the main products of the archipelago were copra, cotton, coffee, maize (corn), and cocoa. They were cultivated on plantations mainly owned by French settlers and worked by laborers drown from the indigenous population.
