PARIS. Action de F500. blue on pink paper. #5000. No 2606. France annexed the Antarctic Ocean island of Kerguelen in 1893, and its exploitation (with that of other islands in the region) to this company. It is difficult to know what were the commercial possibilities. There is no permanent settlement, and the islands are extremely rainy and windy. High costs would have made any products expensive. Probably the only share known from this remote part of the world.
