33 GIRONDE. PARIS. Action de F125. Serie J. green, blue. # 258000. No 17239. Formed in Paris about 1930 to build, repair and maintain all types of ship. Its assets were received partly from Ateliers et Chantiers Maritimes du Sud-Ouest, and partly from Soc. de Travaux Dyle et Bacalan. The former was building mostly oil-tankers, and the latter mainly refrigerated vessels. Financial problems led to a reorganisation. The new company owned 17Ha of installations, with 7 slipways. However, perhaps to the depression, it did not realise its potential, building only small naval vessels, ferries, dredgers, and the like. Attractive piece, with border of ropes, and vignettes of Neptune riding the waves in his chariot, and a ship being launched.
