PARIS. Bon de Répartition. green, black. No 82760. Large format, with folds and edge-splits. Formed around 1880 in a form similar to a modern 'investment fund'. It held quantities of bonds, of many different issues, mostly French but some others (including Panama). The interest and repayments of those bonds were distributed to members of the Fund, on a lottery basis, with drawings at fixed dates, and prizes of fixed amounts (the highest being 6 of 1.000.000 francs). The face of the certificate lists the holdings of bonds, and the reverse shows the prizes offered and the dates of the drawings. The border shows agricultural ladies and landscape, industrial men and factory, fruit and flowers, and much else.
