KJOBENHAVN. Aktie 500 Kroner. green, black. No 4310. Borders repaired with old tape (outside the printed part of the share). Heavy central fold with tears (repaired). A few small edge-splits. Transfer notes until 1988, with the final stamp being a cancellation stamp. Large format with a delicate border and 3 different vignettes of the Tivoli Park. Also a medal vignette of Georg Carstensen (1812-1857), the founder of the famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. He was granted a charter to create Tivoli by telling King Christian VIII that "when the people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics". Tivoli is known, amongst others, for its exotic style of buildings showing an imaginary Orient. It is said to be the oldest operating amusement park in the world, first opening its doors on 15 August 1843. Walt Disney said he got his original inspiration for Disneyland from visiting Tivoli. Nowadays, it is the most-visited theme park in Scandinavia, and the fifth most-visited theme park in Europe. Extremely rare and certainly a highlight piece in Danish scripophily.
