This company was founded in 1854 by Emile Muller to manufacture ceramic ornaments to decorate building facades. Later production expanded to roof tiles etc. In 1889, the company was one of the builders of the famous 'Grand Palais' built for the Paris Universal Exhibition. The company was declared bankrupt in 1908. Its ornamental sculptures are today widely sought after and shown in museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The piece is signed by Louis Emile Muller.
