ANVERS. POSTEL-MOL. Titre de F1000. Serie 3. blue, black, pink. No 447. The company was formed in 1847 to improve agriculture in the poor Campine region, east of Antwerp. The land is of sand and clay, and of low agricultural potential. The company, established at Postel, in the commune of Moll, aimed to cultivate the land to produce wheat and fruit, and to encourage bee-keeping. All these products are shown on the certificate. The first stage, however, was to clear the bruyère from the land, and cut and sell the timber and turf. Large format, delicate and pretty. Apart from exactly one founders share (1847) of the same company, this is the oldest piece from 'De Kempen' we've ever seen. Very attractive large format and - for its age - highly unusual 3 colour print. We know of only two pieces.
