BRUXELLES. Part de Fondateur. gold, blue, buff. #8000. No 2376. Repaired bottom border. Art-Déco design by painter Constant MONTALD, of lovely ladies buying new dresses, brought to them by a naked Mercury. The company's principal shops were on the rue Neuve, Brussels, and Meir, Antwerp, but the statutes on the reverse give details of many other properties. The name is still famous today. Surely the finest of Belgian shop shares. This founder share is extremely rare. The name still exists today: Galerie Inno, but now part of the German group Galeria Kaufhof/Metro Group. This is by far the finest of Belgian shop shares. Constant Montald (1862-1944) was encouraged in his studies by his native city of Ghent. He painted many very large historical scenes, but also created portraits and still life work.As such, he was one of the leading painters of his time. Amongst his pupils are René Magritte and Paul Delvaux. The few works by him on bonds and shares are very distinctive and striking. This is perhaps the best-known of them.
