NAMUR. ROCHEFORT. Action de F1000. green. #1000. No 40. Folds. Formed 1897 to acquire the concession for the exploitation of the caves at Rochefort, and to create a casino there. Most shares were owned by a dentist of Namur, the rest Swiss. Large format, with vignettes of the inside of the caves, with stalactites reflected in the lake, also the château and arms of Rochefort. Border of ivy leaves. Today, the Grottes de Rochefort are known as the Grotte de Lorette or Grottes de Lorette-Rochefort, after the nearby chapel of Lorette. It has recently been completely renovated, including the paths, the light, a sound system, a new reception with audio-visual displays and a museum showing the scientific work at this place. The cave contained prehistoric remains. Its touristic exploitation is linked with those of the caves of Han. Very pretty and rare piece.
