LIEGE. HERVE. Action + feuille de coupons. green. #2000. No 419. The S.A. du Charbonnage de Herve was based on a concession of 763 Ha given to James & John Cockerill and the Lambert family. A small mine was developed. In 1836 the holders sold the mine to the Banque de Belgique, which founded the S.A., 400 shares in which were given to the vendors. The Banque subscribed a further F600.000 to acquire a further 600 shares, to give a capital of F1.000.000. The mine and company were a success, with a ready market in the nearby industrial area, and the city of Verviers.In 1864 a financial reorganisation was needed, and the company merged with the Wergifosse-Xhendelesse to form a new company. This is one of its shares. Heavily hole-cancelled.
