LONDON. 25 Shares of £1. green, black. No 4266. Heavy folds and a little staining. The company was founded in London to build a 156-mile line from Dondo (on the Beira Railway, close to Beira) to Murraça, on the south bank of the Zambezi river. The line opened in 1922. The aim was to link with the Central African Railway, and thus with the Shiré Highlands Railway, bringing the produce of Nyasaland (now Malawi) to the port of Beira. Large format share, with ornate border, and text in English and French. Printed by Bradbury Wilkinson. Rare piece.
