Formed 1901 by the Congo Government and 14 interested companies, to promote cultivation and trade, especially of plant products and ivory. The company held a large portion of the Kasai river basin, partly the property of the 14 companies, and partly from the State. A major product was rubber, where the company had a near-monopoly. Most attractive share, with Jugendstil/art nouveau border rubber plants, Congo stars, small vignettes of train and river-steamer. Rare.
