WEST-VLAANDEREN. ANVERS/DE PANNE. Action de F1000. brown, red, black. #50000. No 8373. Long format, printed by Bradbury Wilkinson. Vignette of one of the company's cargo-ships, and flags of Belgium and the line. Text on face in French. On the reverse is a ship vignette as well, and text in Flemish. The company was founded in La Panne in 1916, but intended to use Antwerp as its home port. At this time, during WW1, Antwerp was occupied by the German army, and the provisional domicile of the company was the Belgian legation, London (as stated in the statutes). The first shipping lines established by the company were from Antwerp to North America, then South America (Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Rosario, and Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Rio Grande do Sul), to India, to Spain, to Portugal, to the Levant (Salonica, Piraeus, Alexandria), to the Far East, and to the Baltic, for import of wood. Lloyd Royal Belge is today part of the Compagnie Maritime Belge (which was taken over by Saverco in 2015).
