ANVERS. Action de F100. black. #2750. No 2250. Large format, with vignette and seal of lyre. The Antwerp MusicHarmony existed already since at least the 1820s. It became a "Société" in 1862. By 1865, it had some 1700 members and was said to be the biggest music association in the country. A leading figure in those days was Felix Grisar, and later also the composer Albert Grisar (a family of German origin but living in Antwerp). They had their own concert hall in the South of the city. They played a rather conservative repertoire which attracted the (often francophile) Antwerp beau monde in the early 20th century.
