WIEN. Aktie über 200 Kronen. green, brown. No 2902. Before World War I, the English armaments company Armstrong-Whitworth owned a torpedo factory in Austria. One of the directors at the time was Sir Henry Whitehead, and presumably the factory was established by him, and took his name. At the outbreak ofthe War, the factory was enemy property, and doubtless taken over by Austria. In 1921 the Wiener Bank and Bankhaus Kola took over the factory, and formed this company. In 1924 it made an agreement with Marswerken AG in Vienna/Liesing (Climax Motorenwerke AG). The company was engaged in the production of engines and diverse items of equipment. We are told these were for aircraft and cars. Liquidated 1937.
