It states that a holder of several treasury notes has exchanged them in return for a new note. Jedediah Huntington (1743-1818) was a senior officer in the American armyduring the Revolution. At the end of the war he was a major-general. After his retirement from the army, he became Treasurer of Connecticut. In 1789 his friend President Washington appointed him collector of customs at the port of New London.
