MEXICO. Cert. for 2 Units of $10. buff, black. #1000. No 556. Partnership formed by Charles E. Pouliot to recover the famous 'Pedro El Negro Buried Treasure'. Pouliot was a French Canadian mining engineer. He searched for the "Pedro El Negro" treasure which was taken from the Spanish in 1810 during the Mexican uprising against Spain. It was said to be worth 3 million dollars in 1931 gold value. According to the legend, the treasure was hidden near a river called Rio Hondo. Signed personally by Charles E. Pouliot. It further states that the holder of 1 unit will get 50% of 1/1000 of the value of the treasure, after the shares due to Mexican authorities have been paid. The lot also includes a second certificate: a blank subscription form for "getting together the necessary funds to purchase the Radio-Emanator geophysical instrument, in order to bring our enterprise to a complete success”. As far as we could find out, the treasure remains still not found to date.
