ROMA. Titolo per 10 Azioni da L.100. Serie 1. black. No 12251-60. Two heavy folds. Formed Rome, 1871. Most decorative border shows the Colosseum (although we do not think the company built that!) and other historical buildings and ancient ruins. Also a scenic view and the she-wolf suckling Romulus and Remus. The company constructed public and private buildings in Rome and the Italian provinces. Also active in buying prominent buildings in the city, presumably for reconstruction/renovation. In 1872 for instance, it purchased the Villa Poniatowski/Villa Giulia, currently home of the National Etruscan Museum. A similar share is pictured in Le Piu Belle Azioni d'Epoca, p.203.
