PARIS. Part de Fondateur. blue, black. #4000. No 1730. The canal, still in use today, links the gulfs of Corinth and Patras, saving ships the need to sail all-round the Peloponnesus. Printed by Chaix in Paris. Upon formation of the company, the company capital was divided into 60.000 shares of 500 francs each. On top came 4000 founder shares which gave right to 20% of the annual profit of the canal. Unlike later issues, this historically important founder share is very difficult to find and one of the oldest Greek shares we know of.
