What we offer seems to be a pre-printing proof with all the text (back and front) that and description the different vignettes that were to be on the printed on the actual bond. The history of this bond iswell-described by Prof. Dr. Eckhardt Wanner in Der Aktiensammler, Nr. 4, 2007. Basically, these were issued to finance the 1848 republican revolution in Baden, more specifically to support a volunteer corps and vigilante patrol. The financial scheme wasset-up by Becker, who also signed this certificate. The first of these bonds were issued on 21 September 1848 and sold in favor of the German Republic (to be formed). This first attempt to form a unified republic of Germany lasted only 3 days.
