PARIS. Action de F500. black, buff. #1200. No 641. Extremely early steamship piece, with an excellent large vignette of steam-tug, 'La Gazelle', pulling two barges, loaded with barrels and bales. Border of anchors, flags, rope, boathooks, etc. The company was formed to offer steam towing from the quai St. Bernard to the mouth of the Marne, to Choisy, Corbeil, Melun, and Montereau, and from Sèvres to Paris. Because of its date, very attractive design and rarity (probably two-three known), a true top piece. Rarity 10.
