PARIS. black. Folds and two large holes below the text. Also some staining and minor edge-damage. A very early French government rente. In 1634 the Royal Treasury authorised the Prévost des Marchands et Echevins of Paris to issue 8 million livres of rentes, a small part of which was to be allocated to Rouen, Clermont-Ferrand, Bordeaux and Montpellier. This rente is part of the 600.000 issued (against capital of 524.000) by Paris in 1639/40 as part of the larger sum. Extremely early date.
