Two pieces have handwritten corrections re. capital etc. Formed 1899 as Compagnie Générale des Tramways d'Anvers S.A., as successor to the Cie Mutuelles des Tramways d'Anvers. It took over the Tramways Maritimes, Tramways du Sud, Tramways Nationaux and Tramways-Omnibus, and later the lines of the Tramways Anversois. In 1928 this company was converted into a holding, owning almost all the shares of Tramways d'Anvers, as well as other interests, such as Autobus Anversois. The company was liquidated in the late 1950s, at the expiry of the company's concessions, and the transfer of the transport in Antwerp to public ownership.
