LIMBURG. BRUXELLES. Cert.d'Inscr.d'Actions de F250, Lib. 70%. blue, green, black. No 22. Square format share, with cancellation holes. Formed 1907 to develop coal deposits in the Kempen region of Limburg. In 1920 changed its name to Kolenmijnen André Dumont. Dumont, of the University of Louvain/Leuven, had been prospecting since 1898, having his first success in 1901 at a depth of 541 metres. He then acquired a concession of more than 5000Ha in the communes of Opglabbek, Niel-bij-As, As, Opoeteren, Dilsen, Lanklaar, Mechelen-aan-de-Maas, and Genk. This concession was reduced to 2950Ha when this share was issued. We see very few shares from Limburg, in spite of its importance to Belgian coal-mining history. Hand-signed by Dumont - the father of the Limburg coal-industry.
