YOKOHAMA, JAPAN. 5% Gold Loan, Yen 5000. Cat. KUL 213. green, pink, black. No 330. The loan was issued by the Yokohama Specie Bank, in Japan and London, in Japanese currency, to build the Beijing-Hankou (or Peking-Hankow) Railway. Across the Yangtze River in Wuchang was another line, the Canton-Hankow Railway, which ran from Canton to Wuchang. The course is now part of the modern Jingguang Railway. Decorative design with two large black dragons. Text in Chinese, Japanese and English. There are 4 different bond denominations to this loan (100-500-1000-5000 Yen) and what we offer hereis the extremely rare top denomination (Kuhlmann reference number 213). Rarity 10.
